The Lisa behind lisadeparts.com is Lisa Bowser of point of departure graphic design. I am a seasoned veteran of graphic design who after years in corporate and in-house situations struck out on their own. After a few years I got more serious about the business aspect and branded my business with the name, point of departure, or pod, hence the icon of the seed pod. It was an accurate metaphor IMHO for what my services represented. A departure from the big agencies and a starting point for creative ideas that helped my clients grow their business. Often I work as part of a team of outside creative services. Having been a creative team leader I know the value of great pinch hitters.

In addition to the business side of design I also occasional teach. Most recently for the Kansas City Art Institute’s Certificate Program.

As a second generation creative I grew up immersed in the design and art culture so I am full of opinions on popular culture.

I live, work and play in Kansas City, Missouri, my hometown.
